A limitless approach
to custom home design

As your custom home designers, we’re here to not only bring your ideas to life—but to catapult them to new heights.

We do so by upholding four guiding principles:

  1. Attentive listening to encapsulate your vision and understand your goals.
  2. Out-of-the-box thinking to surpass design norms and avoid predictable homes.
  3. Meticulous attention to detail to optimize quality, beauty, and symmetry.
  4. Open collaboration so you’re empowered and informed every step of the way.

We believe your custom home experience should be rewarding, not stressful.

Brittney Fusilier

“The whole process from start to finish was streamlined, fun, and exciting. Some people take shortcuts, but Hollingsworth Design does not. You can feel each team members’ passion throughout the entire journey. It was like a match made in heaven and dreams.”

We’ll start with a zero-obligation consultation. Together, we’ll dive deep into the style you’re after, your lifestyle, your budget, and logistics. Maybe you want to create a sanctuary for entertaining, a relaxing vacation home, or the ultimate space for family gatherings. Whatever your goals, we’ll discuss them all.

During this time, you’ll also have the chance to view design examples to act as inspiration. We’ll provide our initial recommendations and answer any questions you have. We’ll then put together a custom proposal and quote for your approval.

phase 3: construction documents

phase 2: home design

Once you’ve approved the scope of your project, we’ll start your custom design. We’ll relay the vision through sketches, floor plans, and site plans.

We’ll also create a powerful 3D model of your home’s exterior. This 3D information is used to create elevations, perspectives, and details for the construction process. This allows you to vividly see what your home will look like once it’s complete and leads to a more accurate finished build. We’ll present all these preliminary designs to you in collaborative discussions so you can highlight any components you’d like to refine.

By the end of this phase, you’ll be able to envision the entire flow and layout of your custom home—inside and out. You’ll have a deep understanding of how symmetry comes into play to create a functional, beautiful space.

Once you’ve approved your home’s design, we’ll finalize plans for construction.  This includes site, floor, roof framing, exterior elevations, typical and design-specific wall sections, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical plans. In addition, if your project requires structural engineering, we offer this service at an additional cost.

When construction kicks off, we’re available to communicate with your builders as needed to ensure your home is built to perfection.

Our Refined

how it works

“It was a great experience from the get-go and positive throughout the whole process. Hollingsworth Design knew how to take our original vision, adjust it for logistical constraints, and design something that went above our expectations. They listened very intently to what was important to us and never made us feel pressured. We’re so looking forward to spending many, many years with our family in this beautiful home they’ve designed.”

Our projects consist of a retainer fee and a rate per square foot. This covers our expertise, project management, custom design development, revisions, construction documents, and communication with your builders.

Since each home is unique, the investment range varies depending on your desired home size and logistical restrictions. We recommend bringing an ideal budget to your consultation so we can establish what’s possible.

During your design consultation, we’ll determine the scale and scope of your project so you know what to expect.

Our plans are fully custom and we want you to love the home we design for you. That’s why we offer a set of revisions on floor plans and a set of revisions on exterior elevations. Additional sets of revisions are possible but will incur additional charges.

Yes, from New York to Washington to Texas, we’ve had the pleasure of working with clients from across the country.

Your builder handles supervision during the construction phase. However, we do communicate with them as needed to help ensure the home is built to your design specifications. We also offer on-site consultation as an additional service.

In order to deliver buildable construction documents, you will need to provide accurate plot/site information in the form of a land survey and construction benchmarks (property size, building setbacks, elevation requirements, site utilities, soil information, etc).

Yes, we have designed homes in most of the major subdivisions throughout Louisiana and we are familiar with most of their requirements.

As a courtesy to you, we will submit all the necessary documents to your subdivision review committee so your plans are approved as quickly as possible.
